About Michelle Jeanne Floral Design

My journey with flowers began when my husband and I stumbled across a flower shop with a for sale sign in the window. That shop was my launching point, but I knew bigger dreams were not far behind. It was a place to grow and learn, practicing the skill I loved most. I enjoyed the creation of everyday florals, but soon found my niche in wedding design. I take great pride in converting my client’s dreams into reality. After all, we truly believe your wedding day is the most important day of your life!

One of my favorite parts of the job is personally delivering the bridal bouquet to the bride. There is nothing quite like seeing the joy on her face when we nail it! I take great pride in creating each piece and the end result is so rewarding.

Helpful Hints!

Find vendors that you you absolutely love. Trust them with your vision for the wedding and sit back and watch something spectacular happen. We love being able to take your dreams and bring them to life. Plus, hiring the best vendors takes some stress off of you! We want to make your day easy and wonderful.

Ala and Don | Lake of Isles Wedding

Today, we’re going to look back to Ala and Don’s Lake of Isles wedding! Matt and Kearsten photographed this gorgeous couple and Rachel was the master of uplighting for the reception!

The day started out with the all of the ladies getting their hair done by Ashley Dion and makeup by Amber from Tash Salon. Ala and her bridesmaids looked flawless, and the last thing left to do was to slip into her stunning Vows wedding gown from Davids Bridal. After a final wardrobe check, it was time to go to Lake of Isles to get married!

Rose Buds Florist made the most beautiful colorful bouquets for the girls that matched perfectly to the floral arrangements spread out throughout the venue. As Ala was escorted down the aisle, Don was beaming with love as he looked at his perfect bride. After Don’s uncle, Michael Buffi, officiated the lovely ceremony, Ala and Don said “I do,” and headed off to the reception. Foxwoods prepared a delicious feast followed by scrumptious desserts from J-Cakes. Once everyone had enjoyed their meals, Chris Sabitoni from On Beat lead everyone to the dance floor to finish off this beautiful wedding day with the sounds of everyones favorite tunes!

Congrats to the happy couple! Make sure to check out Ala and Don’s wedding highlights below!

The day started off full of love and laughter at the family home as the blissful bride and groom got ready alongside their beautiful baby boy. This intimate ceremony was lovely, Krystyna and Andrii exchanged darling vows to one another and they sealed their love with a kiss! Now that our gorgeous bride and groom were officially Mr. & Mrs., we all took off to Providence for some pictures. We took full advantage of the beautiful landscape and architecture of the State House offers for a few shots, and after strolling the grounds for a bit, it was time for us to be on our way and leave the beaming newly weds and their family to celebrate this amazing day!

Today were looking back at Amanda and Kyle’s Hillside Country Club Wedding. To capture their extravagant wedding, Matt and Emily took care of photography, Dan and Caleb did cinematography, and Olga provided the Bluecube!

Amanda and her bridesmaids spent the morning with Hair Tech and Calma Salon. Once all the ladies hair and makeup was done to perfection, Amanda stepped into her Stephen Yearick  wedding dress from Alexandra’s. When the glowing bride and her team of beautiful bridesmaids were all ready, it was time to go to St Rocco’s Church for the ceremony!

Jess And Chad | Michigan Wedding

Oh man. What can I say about this wedding? This one was near and dear to our hearts. As many of you know, Jess was one of our lead photographers for quite awhile. She was the first one I trusted the responsibility of photographing under the Blueflash name to. I was searching through the internet to find someone that looked like they had the talent, the right style, and the right personality to join our team and I came across her. She came by the studio so we could have our awkward introduction (entirely my fault) and the rest is history. I’ve loved having her as part of the team and over the years we grew to be great friends.

She came to RI/MA to go to Hallmark school of Photography all the way from Michigan where she grew up. As time went on and she visited back home she met Chad. Love soon followed, and then soon after that I was sitting across from Jess at my kitchen table and she broke the news that she was probably going to be getting engaged, married, and moving back to Michigan for good soon. I was bummed out to lose her but obviously happy for her at the same time.

Time moved on and Dan and I found ourselves on a flight to Michigan with all our gear so we could take the photos and make the wedding video. It was really great to be able to get out there and be a part of it. It was not great, however, to spill syrup on my one week old phone’s camera lens during breakfast before the wedding. I’d do it again if I had the choice though, syrup lens and all.

Jess is an awesome person (Chad’s pretty cool, too) and I’m still holding out for her to come to her senses and move back to RI. She’s been busy lately starting up her business specializing in boudoir photography called Darling and Desire (http://www.darlinganddesire.com). It’s great to see her taking off doing what she loves out there. Take a look at her wedding film and some highlights from her photos. Congrats to Jess and Chad – we love you guys!

Sarah and Mike | Warwick Country Club Wedding

Today we’re looking back at Sarah and Mike’s Warwick Country Club Wedding! Matt and Emily took care of photography while Nate handled cinematography!

Sarah spent the morning surrounded by her best girlfriends and her glam squad, Kenneth Cote Salon did the girls hair and Make Me Up by Christina Kaian did their makeup! Once the bobby pins ran out and the last lash was brushed with mascara, the girls helped Sarah step into her stunning Maggie Sottero wedding gown from The Bridal Shoppe. Now that the bride was glowing, it was time to head to St. Bernard Catholic Church for the ceremony!

Sarah ascended the aisle that was adorned with the most gorgeous flowers from Golden Gate Studio. Mike and Sarah shared lovely vows in front of all of their family and friends, and after saying “I do” and sharing a kiss, it was time to celebrate! Once everyone arrived at the Warwick Country Club it was time to feast on their delicious meals followed by delectable desserts from Wrights Dairy Farm. To continue the celebration, Music Express led everyone to the dance floor to dance the night away!

Congrats Sarah and Mike, thanks for having us along for the adventure! Make sure to check out the film and the beautiful photographs from their special day below!

Guest Post | Wedding Etiquette in the Age of Social Media

Sharing your wedding on social media is a fun way to celebrate your big day, but how you do it can become inappropriate. To keep it fun and make social media beneficial to your wedding, follow these dos and don’t’s.

DO Use it to Connect with Guests

The great thing about using social media for your wedding is that it can bring you closer to your guests before the big day. Set up a wedding profile page, such as on Facebook, where your guests can chat with you as well as learn important information they need to know about your big day. By using social media to connect with your guests, you make it easier to reach them all in one place.

Kylene and Justin - Blueflash Photography 733.jpg

DO Build Anticipation for Your Big Day

Planning your wedding is exciting and social media gives you the opportunity to include your guests in that excitement. You might be so thrilled with your stunning diamond wedding ring design or gorgeous reception hall that you can’t wait to take a photo and upload it to your page. This is a fun way to feel as though your loved ones are with you every step of your wedding planning – and seeing snippets of what they can expect from your wedding will make them look forward to it.

Nicole and John - Blueflash Photography 257.jpg
DO Set Up a Wedding Hashtag

Creating your own wedding hashtag with your partner is good for many reasons. First, you have all your wedding-related tweets, images, and messages in one place. It’s also lovely for your guests to get involved in sharing their thoughts or personal messages with you. After the wedding, you can search for your wedding hashtag on social media and enjoy all that’s been written about your big day. It’s like having a virtual wedding guestbook with messages from loved ones you can cherish forever.

DON’T Let It Take Over

You want to share important wedding moments as they happen, but don’t let social media take things too far. An example is with images your guests might want to take and upload to your social media wedding page. Although this can be fun, you might feel concerned over the quality of images that will end up on the internet, so perhaps it’s good to set some rules for this type of photo sharing. Examples include asking guests not to share personal images on your wedding page. Perhaps they could upload them to an album instead that you can edit before sharing with the world. Leave the photography to a professional to ensure high-quality snaps.

Although it’s become trendy for couples to share their marital status online the second they’re pronounced man and wife, having such an obsession with social media pulls you away from making real-life memories that can’t be photographed. Don’t miss them! Social media is a fun way to connect with guests and share your special day with the world, but it needs to be regulated a bit so that you don’t fall into the trap of letting it become too much of a priority. Follow the above tips to make social media enhance – not distract you from – your once-in-a-lifetime wedding.
