The Proposal

From Erin… Matt planned the most perfect and intimate proposal. It was Friday, December 29, 2017; Matt had told me to keep that night open because he wanted to take me out for a nice date night. Our favorite thing to do is surprise each other and plan special date nights so it wasn’t that unusual, but I was hopeful this particular date would be extra special. My first clue was when we drove to Newport, as it has always held a special place in our hearts. We had the most incredible dinner at Castle Hill overlooking the Newport Bridge. The waiters kept bringing us special samples and I kept thinking, wow this is so great do they do this for everyone? Little did I know, Matt had tipped the restaurant off that tonight was a special night.

After dinner, we were driving on ocean drive near the bluffs overlooking the water and Matt pulled the car over and asked me to get out. He took me to the same spot where he asked me 5 years previously to be his girlfriend, he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. He said the sweetest things that I still can’t remember because I was just so incredibly happy. I of course said YES! It was so simple but so perfect for us!
