I mentioned the other day in the giant announcement post that Tara and I have purchased Newport Wedding Glam. I thought it might be good to explain a little bit further on what that exactly means.
Newport Wedding Glam is a wedding blog and a vendor guide rolled into one. You may have heard of The Knot or Weddingwire. You’ve definitely heard of them if you’re a bride planning a wedding. They are huge national sites that have lots of vendors in their directories. The only criteria for a vendor to be on one of those sites is that they pay the advertising fee. So what’s Newport Wedding Glam?
It’s Informational
Newport Wedding Glam has daily blog posts that include topics like real weddings, inspirations, trending looks, and so on. On its own, the blog is a valuable resource for the discerning bride.
It’s Exclusive
The vendors in the Glam Guide don’t just get in by paying an advertising fee. They are hand picked, screened, and vetted before they are able to get listed. The idea is that the work of trying to figure out if a vendor is legitimate and trustworthy has already been done for you. All that’s left is deciding on whether their style fits yours.
It’s Local
Newport Wedding Glam is focused on, yes you guessed it, Newport. Newport weddings are some of the most awesome productions in the country. It is a top wedding destination. With that said, New England as a whole is nothing to scoff at. While Newport is the primary focus, anything with that New England charm is proudly published. This is great for any brides in the area because they don’t have to sift through Hawaiian weddings or weddings at the top of icebergs. It’s New England. It’s Newport. You know, boats, water, Del’s, clambakes, all of that good stuff.
It’s Simple
Brides don’t have to create accounts or give up every bit of personal information they have to access the content. It’s a blog and it’s open to everyone.
It’s Generous
There are giveaways from time to time from local vendors. This means that if you’re planning your Newport wedding and want to win a service or something for your wedding, this is the place to do it. I actually gave away a Bluecube rental on the site a few months ago. All brides had to do was leave a comment. Doesn’t get much easier than that!
We’re excited about the potential that Newport Wedding Glam has. Join us for the ride!
