The Venue Spotlight Series

Over the past few years we’ve photographed a lot of wedding venues. Like, a lot of venues. We thought that we’d bring something a little different to the blog to highlight some of these wonderful spaces. In the coming months, we’ll feature some helpful information and beautiful photos and videos of wedding venues around Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut that you are going to absolutely love. So, without further ado, here’s the next edition of our venue spotlight series: Belle Mer!

Belle Mer

Many of the brides that we work with want a reception venue that they can put their mark on. Something stylish and beautiful where they can really let their own style really shine. There are few venues that fit this bill better then Belle Mer. Situated on Goat Island, and close to all the amenities and sights of historic downtown Newport, Belle Mer couldn’t be in a better location. It’s a pristine, modern venue. The simple, neutral color scheme allows you to go wild with flowers and color schemes! While the walls and decor remains neutral in color, it’s anything but boring. With crystal chandeliers, billowy white curtains, and sliding glass walls, we know you’ll fall in love. Whether you want to go for a rustic, barefoot, bohemian look or have a black tie formal affair, this space is perfect.

They have several options for ceremony and reception locations. The Water Salon offers not one, but two gorgeous fireplaces. The Island House features a stunning view of the Newport bridge. The Ocean lawn can serve as a lovely outdoor ceremony location, a cocktail hour spot with lawn games, or even a post-reception lounge spot by the fire pit. The Loft is a perfect location to serve as a stylish bridal suite or to host an unforgettable rehearsal dinner. Belle Mer is a truly dynamic venue.

The property is managed by Longwood Events. Their salespersons and event staff are the most experienced around. They are truly a joy to work with. They also offer some amazing extras, like a fleet of unique boats for cocktail party or a sunset sail after the wedding of your dreams!
