The Venue Spotlight Series
Over the past few years we’ve photographed a lot of wedding venues. Like, a lot of venues. We thought that we’d bring something a little different to the blog to highlight some of these wonderful spaces. In the coming months, we’ll feature some helpful information and beautiful photos and videos of wedding venues around Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut that you are going to absolutely love. So, without further ado, here’s the next edition of our venue spotlight series: Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial State Park!
Eolia Mansion
Harkness Memorial State Park is located where the land meets the sea in historic Mystic Country, Connecticut. Eolia, named after the island home of Aeolus, god of the winds, was the elegant summer mansion of the Harkness family. Now, it’s managed by the State of Connecticut Parks and Recreation Department. The park, the mansion, the gardens, the ocean, it all adds up for the perfect wedding setting.
For photos, you really can’t beat this location. The views of Long Island Sound are truly unparalleled. Want more than just water views? You got it. The elaborate gardens provide ample space and beautiful season gardening. And that mansion. So gorgeous. Marble fireplaces? Check! High ceilings? Check! Beautifully restored rooms and spaces to explore? Check! It’s really all here.
If you’re a Rhode Islander, you might be thinking, “That’s a really long drive!” It’s actually about an hour’s drive from Providence, so it’s not all that far!
