Emily had the awesome opportunity to photograph an engagement in action. Bonus points because Christiana (the girl getting engaged) is one of Emily’s good friends. I’m going to let her tell you about this one, then don’t miss the pictures following! Take it away, Emily…

Last summer, I was a teary eyed spectator standing only a few steps off as my two very dear friends, Josh and Christiana, got engaged. And in the glow of probably the grandest sunset the world has ever seen, I thought to myself, we have dreamed of this forever.
Christie and I have been friends since the start. We daydreamed together of the magic of meeting someone, falling in love, getting engaged- everything you’re supposed to dream about with your best friend. Somewhere along the way, I did watch Christie meet her someone, and I then happily watched as she fell in love with him just as I always hoped she would. However, never did I think for a second I’d get to experience the proposal part of the dream with her. Yet there I stood trying to take these pictures, trying to hold back my happiest tears, as she said yes to the guy who I know will love her fiercely and forever as she deserves.
This was one of the best nights of my life. No, it wasn’t my night, but for some beautiful reason I had the privilege of watching and capturing my friend have the greatest night of her life, and those kind of moments are nothing short of magical.
