You may remember Jenna and Kaz from their snowy engagement session in Smithfield a little while back. Well they’re back, but this time having their Blithewold wedding on a hot summer day.
We started in with them on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Emily split off with Kaz and the guys and I hung out with Jenna and the girls. From there we met up at Blithewold for an emotional first look. After that we went right into bride/groom and bridal party photos and then got ourselves set for the ceremony which was right on site at Blithewold.
The reception took place out in the back under the tent. The weather held clear until the end of the night when some small drops started to fall. We had an idea for a shot and stole Jenna and Kaz from the reception to go under the open sky for a couple minutes. I set up one bare speedlight on a stand behind them, popped a few shots, and got them back under the tent so they could stay dry. I think we grabbed one of my favorite wedding images. Check it out toward the bottom of the highlights. You can see the drops of water falling around them as the light blasts through them from behind. It’s pretty sweet.
