Katie and Jason’s Castle Hill Newport Engagement shoot took place on one of the most perfect summer days. We had so much fun climbing around the rocks and lighthouse at Castle Hill, photographers are allowed to break a few rules now and then! The sun slowly set during our time together, giving us just the most beautiful late summer light. These two are a perfect pair, and we were so excited to capture their love on camera.

HOW THEY MET

From Katie… We met on the 4th of July in Newport while out for the night with mutual friends! I had just graduated from URI and was out with a big group of friends to celebrate summer. One of my friends, brought a friend, and that was Jason :). We didn’t go on our first date until the following February, but had thought about each other ever since we first met that night in Newport! Jason finally asked me out that following February and the rest is history!

PROPOSAL STORY

From Katie… Jason and I were heading up to Vermont in February of 2018 for an annual ski trip in the mountains. He told me he had a surprise planned and that we had to make a stop before arriving to our hotel. We arrived at a hotel other than ours, and I was informed that we were going to be going on a horse drawn sleigh ride in the snow, overlooking the mountains of Vermont. Cozied up with blankets and hot chocolate the ride began. We stopped at a scenic spot and got out of the sleigh to take a picture and Jason got down on one knee and popped the question! It was the most beautiful moment of my entire life.
