Meghan and Jesse | Winter Snow Wedding
May 13, 2014 By  Matthew Celeste With  0 Comment
In  Bluecube  /  Shoot  /  Weddings

This was the coldest wedding we’ve ever been a part of. Probably the most bitterly cold day we had all winter here in New England was January 3rd, which happened to be Meghan and Jesse’s wedding day. Thankfully the temperature were offset by everyone’s awesome attitude and all the love that was coursing throughout the wedding party and guests.

It was the day that the weather services were saying not to be outside with exposed skin for more than five minutes. Well, it takes longer than five minutes to take pictures and these guys wanted them outdoors and of course we were game. The bridal party jumped back and forth from the (heated) bus to outside to get their pictures taken. I, on the other hand, caught no bus warm-up break! I’m not complaining, though. It was worth it and I’m glad they were still down with going outside for photos.

The girls were in their sleeveless dresses throughout the whole process and I have to say that was pretty hardcore of them. I had gloves, a jacket, a hat, and three parkas on. When we were done with the session, Amanda and I got back in the car and noticed that my fingers were literally blue. Blueflash, through and through, right? That took the branding a little too far. I was happy to find that the color and the feeling came back after ten or fifteen minutes of dangling them in front of the heat vent in the car.

This bridal party was awesome and we had a lot of fun with them. We even went back outside during the reception to get some snow throwing shots. Amanda dangled the speedlight and umbrella while I shot and they threw snow up in the air. It was a memorable one. They also invited the Bluecube along which added to the fun.

All the best to Meghan and Jesse. I’m excited for them to come pick up their 20×30″ gallery mount and awesome album that just came in a little while ago! Thanks for having us!

-Matt

It's always humbling and an honor when a fellow photographer trusts you to photograph their own wedding.

These two were awesome tonight. They were kind and easygoing and deserved every bit of sunlight they got today after this morning's downpours.

Congrats to you both and thank you again for having us be a part of it!
