Nikki and Rick | Mystic Wedding

Nikki and Rick got married in Mystic, CT on a relatively warm January day. Jaclyn, Dan, and myself headed down and met up with them at The Whaler’s Inn for the getting ready pictures. You might remember Nikki and Rick from their engagement session we did with them in Newport.

I was looking forward to this wedding, knowing it was going to be an intimate affair in the upstairs room of the Daniel Packer Inne. The ceremony was at the Mystic Yachting Center, which is apparently a really cool place. Out in the back are some docks and the fog was pretty heavy that afternoon. We were psyched to get out there and shoot the bridal party on the docks.

The ceremony featured military personnel (with Rick being in the service) and lots of swords. They tied knots around their wrists which was pretty neat. Everybody was super nice and the night ended with a sparkler walk from the Inne to a local pub for the after party. We followed them on their walk and grabbed some really cool shots.

This was the first (and still only) wedding that the groom stood up at the reception and toasted to… Blueflash. It was so cool and unexpected. It’s always nice when our brides and grooms like us as much as we like them! Thanks so much for having us guys, and all the best to you both!
