Today, we’ve got the details from a sweet couple Matt and Emily teamed up to photograph Stacy and Tom’s Blithewold Mansion wedding a while back. You’ll find lovely colorful florals, stunning details, and a fantastic fist look reaction from the groom.

The Proposal

The couple shared their proposal story with us. Check it out:

“In Tom’s effort to craft a surprise engagement, he recruited the help of his friend/colleague Jen Wolf to disguise it as Erich’s (the matchmaker) birthday celebration. Jen sent an email out to close friends to go to Long Island for the day to drink some wine at our favorite local vineyard, Wölffer Estate. Stacy and Tom were both excited, as they both love vineyards and Erich!

Saturday, October 1st, Stacy and Tom drove out to the South Fork of Long Island with Erich, Jen and her husband, Adam. They got to the vineyard and enjoyed a bottle of wine and a few snacks. Then Erich said, “let’s go take some pictures out by the vines.” (The place was gorgeous and looked like Napa!) Tom and Stacy agreed and were snapping a bunch of photos. Stacy said, “Erich, let’s get one together – I need one with the birthday boy!” Then Erich suggested that Tom and Stacy go into the vines to take a few photos. There was a sign that said “do not enter vineyard”, but Stacy and Tom were feeling risky, so they went in anyway.

They were frolicking through the vines when Tom suddenly stopped to show her some grapes and then said, “you know you mean the world to me, right?” Stacy thought to herself, ‘OMG it’s happening!!!’ Tom then got down on one knee and asked Stacy to spend the rest of their lives together. Stacy cried and said, “of course!!” They then enjoyed a bottle of rosé in the vines with Erich, Jen and Adam.

Afterwards, the group had a fantastic lunch and champagne at Pierre’s in the Hamptons and then made their way back to NYC where Stacy and Tom had dinner (and more champagne) at Rebelle’s. It was an amazing day with a lot of surprises, tears and laughs!”
