We love ourselves a good early morning start. Most of the time. It’s worth it when your day starts out with the view you can see in the first photo below. It also helps when there’s good people on the other end getting ready for their wedding day. That was the case for us with Susan and Ben’s Towers wedding.
It was a 7AM start time at the Towers. They had a day wedding (brunch for the win) and in order to be ready for a 10:30AM ceremony you’ve got to start early. Dan, Emily and I got to the Towers at about ten of seven and saw the sun start to peek its head across the Atlantic horizon. Not bad.
Everything went pretty much according to plan with the girls. The guys showed up at about quarter to nine and we hung out with them for a bit to get some photos and video. The Towers looked great for the ceremony at that time of day. Light flooded in through the windows all along the whole venue. I don’t think I took my flash out of my case the entire wedding which was a nice change of pace.
The rest of the reception was classy and relaxed. Day weddings have a totally different feel than night weddings. It’s really interesting to experience the difference. When the day was getting close to the end we jumped in the car and drove down the street with Ben and Susan to get some more photos and video of the two of them together. They put their handwritten vows in a bottle and threw them into the Atlantic, the start of an annual tradition for them. It was, umm, in a biodegradable bottle…
