Wedding at Gurney’s Newport

The Proposal

Here’s the proposal story that Bridget and James shared with us:

“July 29, 2017 is a date Bridget and James will never forget. They were up in Narragansett, Rhode Island, visiting James’ family for the weekend. Bridget thought it was going to be a typical beach weekend but James had something else in mind. The two had planned to go into Newport for the day on Saturday, to go to lunch and spend some time at the Newport Winery. After a delicious lunch, they headed to the winery for a tour and tasting. When the tour was over, James suggested they go upstairs to get his parents a gift card, for watching their puppy Winston. When they got upstairs, Bridget noticed that the restaurant was empty and saw a beautiful fire place surrounded by candles. James walked Bridget over to the fire place and within seconds was down on one knee. Bridget was in complete shock and of course said yes!

She later learned that James had arranged the whole thing; complete with a photographer to document their special moment, champagne, and a custom wine bottle and glasses. What made the day even more special was the surprise James had waiting back at his parents house. He had arranged for Bridget’s mom and sisters to make the drive up from Margate, New Jersey to be their to celebrate their special moment! He and his mom had also planned an engagement party for family, friends, and neighbors. It was the perfect night and one they will never forget.”
