CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’ ON THE COAST OF MASSACHUSETTS

We had the privilege of being invited to the quaint seaside town of Scituate, MA for Melissa and Dan’s Scituate Lighthouse Engagement shoot. Splashing in ocean waves under a pier reminds us of California, but these two showed us the coolest little hideaway tucked away down the beach from the Scituate Lighthouse. They cozied up for a glass of champagne and we were able to capture their love as the sun set behind us.

After meeting their Freshman year of college in New York City, these two have been together for over a decade. Melissa, a romantic at heart, wanted Dan’s proposal to be a surprise for her. We think he succeeded, read their story below…

…Dan proposed to me in Portland, Maine. We had planned a weekend away, and wanted to stop at a lighthouse park on our way into town. After being together for over a decade, I knew I always wanted to be surprised but I certainly wasn’t expecting him to get down on one knee that day. I had just started working at a diamond company and was convinced he’d be buying a ring in the coming months. What I didn’t know is he had already had a ring for the last 6 weeks and was planning the perfect weekend. He had bought the ring on a family vacation with my family and while his wallet was in my beach bag most of the time- I couldn’t of been more oblivious to it all happening. The ring was a dream, the proposal was perfect and he even planned a dinner back in Boston with both of our parents for the following day to celebrate!
