Rebecca and Joe got married at the end of May on a Sunday afternoon at the Roger Williams Casino. Their wedding ceremony was on the first floor of the casino and the reception was held upstairs.
Amanda came along as second shooter to this wedding and gave me a lesson on what orientation pear shaped diamonds are supposed to be in. Without her, I have to admit the ring photos would’ve had an upside down ring. Good call, Amanda.
The flowers at this wedding were outrageously awesome. One of the bridesmaids is the owner of Studio 539 on Wickenden Street in Providence. She poured her guts into creating everything for the wedding. The colors were rich and the bouquets were dense. I actually really enjoyed taking photos of all the flowers.
We went to a few spots around Roger Williams with the bridal party. When we got to the Temple to Music, the sky turned from sunny and blue to dark grey and menacing. The next thing we knew it was torrential downpours and it felt like hurricane winds were kicking up. Thankfully, as quickly as it came, it left. Other than that freak localized storm, we ended up getting great weather.
One other little tip you might like to stick in your Rolodex: the carousel at Roger Williams is apparently not fair game to take photos in. After I took a few pictures, the guy running the place kindly (read: miserably) informed me that it costs $50 to take photos there. We left.
Jack Hanna from Luke Renchan Entertainment kept the guests on the dance floor all night long. They also did an awesome job lighting the space with lots of uplighting. Russel Morin kept the masses fed with their always top-notch food.
We had our first “first viewing party” with Rebecca, her parents, Joe, his mother, and his sister. It was awesome! So much better to sit down together and look at the photos for the first time rather than just mailing out a USB drive.
Congratulations to Rebecca and Joe and thanks so much for having us be a part of your wedding!
