The 2019 Common Good Awards by RI Monthly were held at Aldrich Mansion in Warwick. Hosted by Rhode Island Monthly and the Rhode Island Foundation. Honorees alongside their families and colleagues gathered to recognize businesses in Rhode Island that inspire Philanthropy in their employees. From Rhode Island Monthly “This program recognizes Rhode Island businesses of all sizes that inspire philanthropy in their employees around the state, not by writing a check to a worthy cause, but by encouraging staff to go into the community and help.”
Common Good
In the beautiful setting of Aldrich Mansion Warwick, Common Good awards reception was full of friendly faces and new connections. A cocktail hour gave way into the awards ceremony, where winners were congratulated for their outreach efforts and changes they have made in their communities. Gray Matter Marketing, recognized for raising more than $1 million for local charities through long distance road races and food and beverage festivals. Barton Gilman LLP, recognized for donating up to $1,000 per lawyer to the charity of their choice as well as joining the Pro Bono Collaborative to provide legal services to low-income families with developmentally disabled children. Pare Corporation, recognized for providing pro bono engineering services to nonprofits, including helping the Boy Scouts’ Narragansett Council. Amica Insurance Company, recognized for giving employees paid time off each year to volunteer at a nonprofit.
