Shannon and Kevin | Haley Mansion Wedding
October 22, 2026 By  Matthew Celeste With  0 Comment
In  Wedding  /  Weddings

Shannon and Kevin were married at Haley Mansion in Mystic, Connecticut, the house they chose together during planning. They met at Lehigh University, which became a quiet throughline as friends and family gathered to mark the day at the same historic property where Shannon prepared before the ceremony.

Their proposal came on a cross‑country road trip when Kevin asked Shannon to marry him in Badlands National Park. That story became part of conversations all weekend and helped shape why the couple wanted a venue that felt like a single place for everything—ceremony, photos, and reception—so everyone could stay close.

A first look at Haley Mansion gave them a private moment before guests arrived; later they set aside extra time for portraits because extended family was important. They asked for a larger family group list that included aunts, uncles, and cousins, and those portraits felt like another small celebration of who raised them.

The wedding party of a dozen offered lively support without pulling focus, and the details they leaned on were straightforward: a classic bouquet, a flowing veil that caught the wind on the mansion’s grounds, and handwritten vows that each read aloud. Those touches kept the day intimate and personal rather than overly staged.

Shannon and Kevin told friends during planning that reading their vows and the cocktail hour were the moments they most anticipated, and both scenes became anchors of the day—one quiet and exact, the other social and bright. The reception filled the house in a way that let conversations ripple from room to room.

By the end of the night the couple and their guests had settled into a comfortable mix of celebration and familiarity. Choosing Haley Mansion because they found it together felt right for a day designed around family, memories, and a few clear moments they were determined to keep for themselves.

It's always humbling and an honor when a fellow photographer trusts you to photograph their own wedding.

These two were awesome tonight. They were kind and easygoing and deserved every bit of sunlight they got today after this morning's downpours.

Congrats to you both and thank you again for having us be a part of it!
