Wedding planning can be a pretty daunting task. There’s so much to do and so much conflicting information out there about the best way to get everything done. How do you stay on track with your wedding planning timeline? We’ve got a few tips to share.
Enjoy the Moment
If you’re newly engaged, take some time to just enjoy the new level in your relationship. It’s a special time, so don’t jump into the planning too fast. The most important take-away from the wedding planning process isn’t the wedding, it’s your marriage! Take some time to invest in that and enjoy some time with each other.
Make A List
Figure out what is most important to the two of you. Do you want to have space for conversations with your guests or do you prefer to host the dance party of the century? Make a list of the things that are most important to you before booking a date or any vendors. This can be an incredibly helpful tool in keeping you focused on what’s truly important throughout the process.
Breakdown the Tasks
Now that you know what your goals are, it’s helpful to breakdown the tasks by month. Having small projects to work on helps to keep the process fun rather than stressful. Once you have the tasks broken down, share it with your bridesmaid or someone else who is supporting you. Having others assist can take the pressure off and can help give you a little push if you do start to fall behind. Our friends over at Weddingwire have a great infographic to help you break down the best timing to book your vendors. After you’ve accomplished your tasks for the month, take some time to celebrate! You’re likely working a full time job and planning an amazing wedding at the same time. That is no joke. Treat yo’ self!
