“Justin and I headed to his parent’s house for the holidays, a few days before Christmas. He mentioned he wanted to stop and grab dinner on the way in Mystic, CT. I was busy winding down the year and with holiday stress so I wasn’t really paying attention. It did not cross my mind that there was a chance we would get engaged.

When we parked Justin mentioned we had some time before our reservation (a reservation got me thinking because we rarely had them!). We walked over the drawbridge in search of a place to grab a drink and Justin led me down the dock overlooking a park with lights and a Christmas tree. He stopped and asked me right there. It was perfect. Since we were on the dock he didn’t want to give me the ring until we got off onto solid ground so I’m pretty sure anyone watching us saw me chasing my new fiance off the dock to get a better look at my new ring!”
